There wouldn’t be growth if a challenge wasn’t chosen

Pushing through walls sometimes requires strength beyond what one man can muster

Experience gained is experience earned

You don’t have to sit in a classroom just to learn

The heart breaks for what it yearns

There wouldn’t be fire without something to burn

Deep thoughts coming through

Sitting alone in my room to write

Words on a page but it feels like

Im in a boxing ring in a 10 round fight

Trying to gather faith like

Stacking up bundles of sticks

but I need that match to strike

Without that fire there ain’t gonna be that light

The night might be darkest at midnight

But imma draw near to the source of light

to see

Knowing what’s in front of me

Can be either thrown away or added to the fire

of faith

Stacking another stick to the bundle

Knowing the stick is just another

Tribulation to keep the fire burning longer while

I wait

Just trying to make it through the night till the light of day

Breaks though like a thief into a safe

Mining deep into the earth to find that iron

Collecting then throwing ontop of the sticks I’m piling

Hammering the metal to form a blade that sharpens

Cuttin through lies like a warrior of light

Diamonds can’t be made without pressure

Without stress, muscles can’t grow to full measure

Skin can form calluses tougher than leather

Suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character

And character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame

Because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts, so imma contain

That warmth of the fire until the night turns to day

Gathering more sticks because they’re in my path anyways

And I might as well put them to use

Knowing that God that never lets anything go to waste

But works all things for the good of those who love him, so that’s what I’ll choose to do

I know my story isn’t over until I see the light of the Sun

And because there are still more challenges to overcome
