Graveyard shift, my time to shine

Badge is crooked—feels just fine

Left eye’s workin’, right one naps

(It’s called “rotational collapse”)

But now and then, they both give out

Face-first near the water spout

Eyes are open, more or less—

Just windows to unconsciousness

I’m on Blink Patrol (oh yeah!)

Sleep’s got partial control (you bet!)

If I stand too long, I lean and slide

Into gravity homicide

Nose is shaped like modern art

From falling face-first in the dark

Blink Patrol, still standing tall

I barely blink—but when I do, I fall

I pace the halls with silent pride

Trip on my badge, then moonwalk-slide

Checked a shadow, filed a report—

It was my coat hung up, of course

Security cam saw me twirl

Argue with a squirrel-shaped swirl

Boss walked in—I struck a pose

Then sneezed so hard I broke my nose

I’m on Blink Patrol (salute!)

Half-awake in this ill-fit suit (cha-ching!)

Sometimes I nap with my eyes ajar

Still pullin’ shifts like a nighttime star

Caffeine shakes and busted shoes

Socks mismatched and dignity bruised

Blink Patrol, all night I roam

My mind’s on leave, but I’m still home

Sometimes I think I’m wide awake—

Then dream I’m eatin’ office cake

Gave the vending machine a hug

Thought it whispered, “You’re enough.”

I’ve dodged raccoons and haunted chairs

Held stakeouts in the janitor’s lair

This nose, this job, this noble toll

I'm the limp heartbeat of patrol

I’m on Blink Patrol (still here!)

My eyes, my pride, my shifting gear (clunk!)

If trouble comes, I might just smile

And stall it out in sleepy style

I’ve got reflexes set to “meh”

But I defend this Taco Shed

Blink Patrol, all through the night—

A wandering blur in badge and light
