I searched for heaven in the distance
Looking somewhere far away
Building walls with my religion
While Your love was calling my name

To the truth You always said
That Your Spirit lives within us
And Your kingdom is here instead

You were never far above me
You were closer than my breath
Calling sons and daughters forward
Out of fear and out of death

Now I see with different eyes
Love has torn away the lies

We are one in the Father
Walking in the light of love
Not divided by religion
But united by the Spirit from above
Like the branches to the vine
Your life is flowing deep inside
And now Your love is shining through us
We were never left behind

One heart
One spirit
One family in grace
The Father dwelling in His people
Love revealed in every face

Jesus showed the way before us
Not to lift Himself as God
But the perfect faithful image
Of a man who walked with God
Every word and every action
Was the Father shining through
Now the same Spirit He walked in
Lives in me and lives in you

No more temples made with hands now
We are living stones of light
Built together in His presence
Burning through the darkest night

Now the veil has passed away
And His Spirit leads the way

We are one in the Father
Walking in the light of love
